Trees fell, and power lines were taken out on S. Snyder Road in Montgomery County.
But the community is coming together.
“The wind came; we ran in,” said Carrie Florence. “I looked outside; it was green. I could see the stuff flying around.”
The storms impacted the Florences and Eichers on Saturday night.
“We’re very thankful,” said Nathen Eicher. “First, I should say that God spared our lives and we have a church brotherhood that’ll probably be over here tomorrow to help do some cleanup.”
He was at home with his wife and four kids when storms arrived on Saturday.
We flew Sky 7 over their property to get a better look at the damage.
“We’ve only been here for six years,” said Eicher. “So, this is kind of our first time. It was just kind of a right down Snyder Road, just a hit and miss.”
Several trees were down on S. Snyder Road.
Branches were down in Florence’s yard.
“My son came and cut it down and just moved it out,” she said. “My daughter’s rental car was right here. The tree fell on it. But we got lucky and no damage.”
It is a similar story for the Eichers.
The family is still shaken up, but there was no structural damage.
“They were a little nervous, a little shook up because as we were going to the basement we could hear the wind pick up and knock some branches down, things like that,” he said.
Power was out for about three hours on Saturday. But it has since been restored.
