James Hooker works near Columbus, and left work around 4:30 p.m. before spending three hours in traffic on the interstate.

“All of a sudden, everything just came to a dead stop and I’ve spent two hours doing, like, eight miles an hour,” Hooker said. “I was never so happy to finally see an exit.

When the semi hit the concrete barrier, pieces of debris hit two other vehicles traveling westbound.

One driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

“Just glad there wasn’t any deaths,” Hooker said.

The interstate is now fully open.
