US Marshals take 1 in custody after nearly 12-hour standoff

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 7:30 p.m.

A man is in custody after a SWAT and police presence in Dayton.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00, several officers were reported in the area of N. Main Street and W Maplewood Avenue just after 7 a.m. on Thursday.

TRENDING STORIES:

A man with a federal warrant ran from the US Marshals and barricaded himself in a home in the area, according to the Dayton police spokesperson.

Dayton SWAT was requested due to the man’s history of weapons and violence.

Around 7:30 p.m., police said that the man was taken into custody.

Further information about what the man was wanted for or his identity has not yet been released.
