Last month, Thompson pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, one count of aggravated vehicular assault and one count of OVI.

As previously reported by News Center 7, the crash happened in the 800 block of East County Line Road, in Clark County, on April 12.

20-year-old Robert Thomas of Urbana and 26-year-old Megan Branam of Springfield were killed in this crash.

An investigation found Thompson was driving west on E County Line Road when he went left of center and hit the oncoming car.

Thomas and Branam died on scene. The third occupant in their vehicle was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

Clark County Prosecutor Dan Driscoll said investigators found open containers of alcohol in Thompson’s car and noticed signs of impairment while talking to him.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for a blood draw and found that Thompson’s blood alcohol level was two and a half times over the legal limit at the time of the crash, according to Driscoll and the crash report.

“Troopers also discovered that Thompson had four prior OVI convictions and was under a 30-year license suspension at the time of the crash,” Driscoll said.

At the time of writing, Thompson remains booked in the Clark County Jail.
