There is a chance of icy roads with temperatures around freezing.

News Center 7’s Malik Patterson spoke with people about the possible drastic temperature changes on Sunday.

Many people said that they do not plan to go out on Sunday.

They told Patterson that they don’t mind the heavy snow but are tired of slipping and sliding on the back roads.

Deasia Crockian was born and raised in Springfield. She moved away years ago, and this was her first winter back in Ohio.

“It’s been a little hectic. I guess the snowfall is a little different for me since I moved back, adjusting to learning to drive again in the snow and stuff,” she said.

Crockian says that she is not worried about the roads.

“It hasn’t been too bad,” said Deasia Crockian. “Like the side roads get a little slippery and stuff. They usually take care of the main roads well.”

A man said that he plans to stay home on Sunday.

“All-wheel drive, but I’m just not that comfortable with it. I don’t know why,” said Robert Marker.

He said that he used to look forward to snow.

“I used to love it. I liked to slide around the snow when I was a lot younger,” said Robert Marker.

News Center 7 will monitor the roads and temperatures overnight.

We will continue to update this story.
