71-year-old man dead after motorcycle hits house in Clark County

CLARK COUNTY — A man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Clark County Saturday night.

State troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Springfield Post and medics responded at 9:25 p.m. to State Route 41 near Spence Road on reports of a crash in Pike Township, according to an OSHP spokesperson.

A 71-year-old man was driving a Harley-Davidson Tri Glide 3-wheeled motorcycle on State Route 41 when he went off the right side of the road. The motorcycle hit a house and overturned.

CareFlight transported the driver, John Hawk, Sr., to Miami Valley Hospital, where he died from his injuries, the spokesperson said.

No one was in the house at the time of the crash.

State troopers closed part of State Route 41 for over an hour. The road is back open.

The crash remains under investigation.
