MONTGOMERY COUNTY/ CLARK COUNTY — State troopers are investigating two different aircrafts that went down in the Miami Valley in the past two days.
On Monday evening in Clark County, no one was hurt when a small plane made a hard landing at the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, troopers said that small plane crashes are rare for them.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. News Center 7 crews on the scene watched as crews pushed the single plane out of the grass and back onto the runway, before towing it back to the hangar.
Troopers said the plane was trying to land when there was an issue with the front landing gear.
The runway was closed for a couple of hours but has been reopened.
On Sunday afternoon, a man was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital after he was ejected from an aircraft near Trotwood.
Emergency crews spent two hours stabilizing the pilot before taking him to the hospital.
The pilot said he was sliced by the aircraft’s propellers.
The pilot, identified as Ernest Washington, told our News Center 7 crew that he is on the way to recovery.
“I’m wiggling my toes, my fingers. I’ve already went for a walk. So it’s not as bad as everybody thought in the beginning, although you could see my kidney and my spine were exposed,” he said.
Washington says it will take a lot of time for him to fully recover, but when he does, he says that he plans to get back into the air.
