Video and photos from the scene show that the fire damaged the front of the home.
Harrison Township Battalion Chief Dave Nango told News Center 7’s Xavier Hershovitz that there was a heavy amount of fire when they arrived at the scene.
He said the homeowner started some grease on the stove and went into the living room. The fire started in the kitchen and spread to the front of the house.
Nango said the home is not a total loss.
“I don’t believe it’s a total loss. It’s got some fire damage, some water and smoke damage on the inside, but I believe this one is going to be rehabbed,” he added.
No injuries were reported. The homeowner got herself out.
