Dayton Police Lieutenant Steve Clark told News Center 7 they received information that suspects wanted in an earlier robbery in Dayton may have entered a home on Smith Street.
When officers arrived, they set up a perimeter and began giving verbal commands.
When they didn’t receive any response to their commands, they made entry and found that no one was inside, Clark confirmed.
A stolen car was found at the scene, but police were not able to confirm if the car was taken during the robbery that initially brought police to the scene.
Police said the homeowner had been renting the house out as a short-term rental. It was supposed to be unoccupied this morning.
The robbery remains under investigation.
