Police respond to reports of shots fired in Dayton neighborhood

DAYTON — Police responded to reports of shots being fired in Dayton on Sunday afternoon.

Just before 3 p.m., Dayton crews responded to the 100 block of Anna Street on reports of shots fired, according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Sergeant.

News Center 7 crews on scene see several Dayton Police officers and cruisers, and crime scene tape blocking part of the street.

In a 911 call obtained by News Center 7, a woman saw a car shooting gun shots.

“I was on my friend’s porch,” she told dispatchers. “There was a car up here, they were shooting a bunch of shots, and people running.”

The caller further described the chaotic scene.

“They had driven through the yard. It was girls running, people running. We just took cover,” the caller said.

News Center 7 has contacted Dayton Police to learn if anyone was injured and why this happened.
