MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Deputies are investigating after a person walked into an area hospital with a gunshot wound.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, around 1:44 a.m., a man reportedly arrived at Kettering Health Dayton, formerly Grandview Hospital, with a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to information provided to deputies at the Emergency room, the shooting happened near the intersection of Salem Ave and Free Pike in Harrison Township.
Deputies located a scene at the Sunoco Gas Station at 3900 Salem Ave.
After being shot, the man who was shot ran away before being picked up by a friend and taken to the hospital, according to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The man was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. There is no suspect information available at this time.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
