Upon arrival, police found that a motorcycle and a pickup truck were involved in a crash.
Cairns said the Traffic Services Unit was called to the scene to conduct the investigation.
A preliminary investigation found that the motorcycle crashed into the back of the pickup truck.
Medics took the motorcyclist to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck wasn’t injured in this crash.
“Just looking at the debris and the damage the motorcycle did to the truck while the truck was moving would indicate that speed is going to be a factor in this specific crash,” Cairns said.
However, the exact cause of this crash remains under investigation.
“So there’s a lot to look into. Anytime we get these crashes, we try to just keep it pretty open-minded about what could’ve been the cause,” Cairns said.
Anyone who may have video footage or witnessed this crash is asked to contact the police department.
