LaDavid Shaw was in court Monday morning for his competency hearing.

As News Center 7 previously reported, Shaw pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in connection with the killing of Shanae Robinson at a truck stop in New Paris in June.

In court on Monday, Preble County Common Pleas Judge Martin Votel said Shaw was “not cooperative with the evaluation and did not wish to engage in the evaluation.”

Shaw’s attorney said they are withdrawing the not guilty by reason of insanity claim.

He’s expected back in court next month.
