UPDATE: 2 people injured, 1 flown to hospital after residential fire in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — Two people were injured, and one was flown to the hospital after a residential fire in Springfield on Saturday afternoon.

Around 1:37 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 300 block of Chestnut Ave on reports of a residential structure fire, according to a Springfield Police and Fire Supervisor.

A Springfield fire official told News Center 7 crews on scene that two people suffered burn-related injuries.

One person was taken to Springfield Regional, and one person was flown to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Additional details on the severity of their injuries were not immediately available.
