TROY — UPDATE: 8:30 P.M.
A Miami County dispatcher confirmed to News Center 7 that Peters Road has since reopened.
A gas leak has been reported in Miami County.

The leak was reported in the area of Peters Road and Spruce Street in Troy just shortly before 2 p.m., according to Miami County dispatchers.
Firefighters confirmed to News Center 7’s Mason Fletcher that a work crew in the area hit a gas line.

Donald Pemberton, Troy Fire’s assistant chief, said a company was boring for a fiber optic internet line when they hit a gas main.
That main had been marked before any digging was done.
CenterPoint Energy is on the scene to repair the leak.
Peters Road is closed in the area of the leak. Pemberton estimates it will remain closed until around 8 p.m.
