Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy fire coming from the back of the house.
The family living inside made it out safely by the time crews arrived.
“Crews went in, had a large amount of fire to contend with, but were able to fairly quickly extinguish the fire,” Judge said.
The flames were extinguished before News Center 7 crews arrived on scene.
Judge said the house was significantly damaged in the fire and the family of six has been displaced.
“These houses in this neighborhood are all pretty close together, so there was some worry, at least initially, about the fire spreading. We did have some damage to neighboring homes, but no true extensions,” Judge added.
The cause of this fire remains under investigation, but Judge said it appears to be accidental in nature.
