Firefighters investigate house fire; damages to exceed $100,000

PIQUA — Firefighters are investigating after a house fire in Piqua on Friday night.

The fire was reported in the 1500 block of Forest Avenue before 10:30 p.m., a Miami County dispatcher confirmed.

There was major damage to the house, with an estimated damage to exceed $100,000, according to Piqua Fire Chief Lee Adams.

There are no injuries reported at this time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Piqua Fire Department received mutual aid from Troy, Covington, Fletcher, Lockington, and Sidney fire departments.

Power Distribution and Public Works, Centerpointe Energy, and the American Red Cross also responded to the scene.
