Deputy involved in crash at busy intersection; minor injuries reported

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — UPDATE @ 3:30 p.m:

A Montgomery County deputy was involved in a crash in Montgomery County on Tuesday.

Around 1:30 p.m., Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers were called to a crash at Main Street and Shoup Mill Road.

Deputies were responding to a crash at the intersection of Salem Avenue and Free Pike.

While responding to that call, a deputy traveling westbound on Turner Road with emergency lights and sirens activated went through the intersection and was hit by an Infiniti, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the Infiniti had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The deputy was not hurt and was taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
