Dayton Leadership Academies Superintendent Tess Mitchner Asinjo told News Center 7 that the student brought prescription cholesterol pills on campus.

A few students ingested the pills and were transported to Dayton Children’s Hospital as a precautionary measure, Mitchner Asinjo added.

All of the students have since been cleared, released, and are safe.

In a social media post, the school said administrators immediately investigated the matter, contacted the appropriate parents, and worked closely with authorities and medics to ensure student safety.

“The student responsible has been identified and is facing disciplinary action based on the school’s code of conduct,” Mitchner Asinjo said.

This incident was isolated.

“Dayton Leadership Academies takes a proactive approach to students’ health and well-being. We partner with multiple community organizations to provide prevention programs during the school day,” Mitchner Asinjo said.
