WILBERFORCE — A local university gymnast is an All-American for the second straight season.

Wilberforce University said in a social media post that junior Diamond Cook has earned first-team All-American honors.
She scored a 9.725 at the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships (WCGNIC) in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Cook was Wilberforce’s first-ever All-American last season, according to a previous News Center 7 report.
The university said that she had overcome injury and raised the bar all season.
“Her hard work and dedication continue to shine, and we couldn’t be prouder!” Wilberforce said on social media. “Let’s celebrate this amazing achievement!”
The university started its gymnastics program back in 2024.
