Troopers investigate fatal motorcycle crash in Clinton County

CLINTON COUNTY — Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers with the Wilmington Post are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened on Friday afternoon.

The two-vehicle crash happened before 1:30 p.m. on Farmers Road near Murphy Road in Clinton County, according to a spokesperson.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van, operated by 71-year-old Orlando Beverly, was turning onto Farmers Road from a private driveway.

Beverly failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by 33-year-old Joshua Pagett of Lynchburg.

The motorcycle went off the left side of the road, where Pagett was ejected.

Beverly suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene.

CareFlight transported Pagett to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

It was determined that Pagett was not wearing a helmet during the time of the crash.
