MIAMI COUNTY — The man accused of killing his wife in their home in Tipp City appeared in court on Thursday in person for the first time.
Caleb Flynn appeared before the judge a month after investigators found his wife, Ashley, dead.
Flynn walked into the silent Miami County courtroom to face new charges and bond. He left his lawyer to do most of the talking.

His attorney, Patrick Mulligan, said, “This is his first time in a court case. I suggest that a reasonable bond be set in light of the fact that we have entered a not guilty plea.”
On Wednesday, a Grand Jury indicted Flynn on multiple counts in connection with Ashley’s death. Those charges include aggravated murder, assault, tampering with evidence, and intimidation.
Judge Stacy Wall ordered a bond of $3.5 million. However, the defense wanted the judge to address something else to Flynn concerning his children.
The judge had to remind Flynn what no contact means. “Let the court explain, no contact means no contact. It means in person, texting, email, third party, your lawyer, or anyone. You cannot have contact with the victim or representative of the minor children in this case,” Wall said.
Flynn’s pretrial is set for March 30 at 9 a.m. Although he didn’t say much, Flynn showed some emotion as he wiped his eyes before being escorted back to Miami County Jail.
As News Center 7 previously reported, Flynn was arrested last month in connection with the death of his wife, Ashley.
She was found dead on Feb. 16 after officers received a report of a burglary and shooting at her home on Cunningham Court.
Investigators told News Center 7 that only Ashley, her husband, and their children were inside the home when she was shot.
Flynn was later arrested on Feb. 19.
If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
