Man arrested following early-morning pursuit in Springboro

A Springboro police officer attempted to stop two speeding vehicles early Friday morning, leading to a brief pursuit and the apprehension of a suspect.

The incident began around 5:38 a.m. when the officer observed the vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed from Mottaret Way within the city. Despite multiple traffic violations, both vehicles fled when the officer attempted a traffic stop.

During the pursuit, one of the vehicles, a black Dodge Charger believed to have been stolen, crashed near the intersection of Austin Boulevard and State Route 741.

The occupant of the vehicle, identified as Ja’Vien Robinson, exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

The pursuing officer continued the chase on foot and successfully apprehended Robinson without further incident. Robinson was then transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.

Robinson was charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with the Lawful Order of a Police Officer
  • Obstructing Official Business
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Breaking and Entering
  • Possession of Criminal Tools
  • Receiving Stolen Property
