DAYTON — One person is in custody after allegedly threatening to kill someone in Miamisburg.

Miamisburg Police were called to the Southland Village apartment complex after a male threatened to “shoot up” an apartment and kill a female acquaintance.
A spokesperson for the department said the suspect, identified as Dashawn Smith, had previoulsy assaulted the victim.
Smith was later traced to the 100 block of S. Irwin Street in Dayton, where News Center 7’s crew reported seeing a large police presence.
He initially locked himself in a home and refused to exit, but eventually surrendered.
Smith was arrested on two counts of aggravated menacing. A spokesperson said he may face additional charges.
