DAYTON — One person was taken into custody after a large police presence in a Dayton neighborhood on Monday.

The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) served a warrant for a fugitive in the 700 block of Edgemont Avenue, a spokesperson with the agency.

On scene, News Center 7 crews spotted several Dayton police officers and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies in the area.
A Montgomery County dispatch supervisor told News Center 7 that shots were fired in this area.
News Center 7 crews on scene saw four SWAT trucks arrive, and authorities were using crime scene tape to block the area.
The spokesperson with the USMS confirmed that one person was taken into custody. We are working to learn the suspect’s identity.
