MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Drivers can expect to see more construction on Interstate 75.
The Ohio Department of Transportation is adding an extra lane from Springboro to Miami Township on both the northbound and southbound sides.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, the construction will be between the Pennyroyal Road overpass in Springboro and the Lyons Road overpass in Miami Township.

The construction will be between the Pennyroyal Road overpass in Springboro and the Lyons Road overpass in Miami Township.
ODOT told News Center 7 in July that once the new lanes are opened, they hope it will alleviate some of the congestion drivers notice in that area.
Dominick Thompson said that he drives through that area every day.
“Every time I hop on the highway, I’m always waiting like 10-15 minutes to get to places because the traffic is so heavy. It frustrates me because sometimes I have to get to work and I have been waiting for so long. I think it’s better to add more lanes so it lessens the traffic”
Construction started last month, with most of the construction work happening overnight.
The project will last for three years and is expected to be finished in Fall 2029.
