DAYTON — A homicide investigation took place in a Dayton neighborhood Thursday evening.

Around 5:20 p.m., Dayton police were called to North Hedges and East Second streets for an unresponsive person.

Lt. Daniel Perkins with the Dayton police confirmed homicide detectives were investigating.
In a 911 call obtained by News Center 7, a woman said she found her son in his room, not breathing.
News Center 7’s Mason Fletcher spoke with neighbors.
They said they often hear gunshots.
“How often would you say you heard them around hear?” asked Fletcher.
“About every night,” said Gordon Cameron.
