GREENE COUNTY — The mother of a 16-year-old boy killed in a crash near Hilltop Road and state Route 235 Wednesday said her son “had such a big heart” and would do anything for anyone.
Jarred Hixson, of Xenia, was a passenger in a car driven by 16-year-old Troy Haney, also from Xenia.

Haney was driving a Kia Spectra on state Route 235 south that went left of center and hit a Mercury Grand Marquis traveling north, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol..
News Center 7 also is working to speak to family members of Haney
“He had such a big, funny sense of humor,” Hixson’s aunt, Brittanie Hatfield, said. “He always had a big smile on his face and most of all he absolutely loved his momma and his brothers and his entire family.”
Hixson was a student at Greene County Career Center and had previously attended Xenia Community Schools.

“He grew up playing football and wrestling,” Hatfield said. “He hated school up until this year, when he started at the career center taking welding classes. He was so happy.”
