TRENDING STORIES:

Vandalia Fire Chief Chad Follick told News Center 7’s Taylor Robertson that all floors were on fire.

When they arrived, flames were coming from the roof when they arrived.

Follick said that the house is a total loss. He added that it will take them several hours to get the fire completely knocked down.

There were animals inside the home, but it’s not clear if they made it out. Follick said firefighters did not go inside to check on them.

He added that additional crews were requested due to the heat and humidity. This was so they could rotate them in and out.

No one was injured. Follick said that they were initially told that the occupants were not home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

We will continue to update this developing story.
