DARKE COUNTY — Update @ 6:30 a.m.
An animal barn and farm equipment have been determined to be a total loss after a fire just before 2:30 a.m. near State Route 36 in Darke County.
News Center 7’s Xavier Hershovitz is on scene and will provide an update on News Center 7 at 12:00.
100 rabbits and 15 goats were inside the barn when the fire started, according to Braford Fire Chief Ron Hoelscher.
Most of the animals were able to get out.
15 goats have died.
U.S State Route 36 is closed at this time.

Firefighters are battling a barn fire near U.S State Route 36 between Smith Road and State Route 721.

The call came in just before 2:30 a.m., according to a Darke County Dispatcher.
