A person is dead after a shooting in Montgomery County early Wednesday.

Deputies responded at 2:15 a.m. to the 2400 block of Fairport Avenue to a report of an attempted burglary. It was upgraded to a shooting, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies found a male shot inside a home.
They attempted life-saving measures, but he died from his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
A female homeowner called the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center (RDC) to report the incident.
