An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper told News Center 7 crews on scene that a driver failed to negotiate the split on the highway, went off the road and overturned.
Traffic cameras show that the crash happened just after the contraflow lane, so drivers are using it to pass the scene.
The trooper said the man who was driving was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
All other southbound lanes are closed.
