DAYTON — A 49-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after allegedly being shot by her boyfriend Monday night.

Around 8:45 p.m., police were called to a local hospital for a woman who had walked in with a gunshot wound.

A 49-year-old woman was suffering from a gunshot wound to her back, and the suspected shooter, a 49-year-old man, drove her to the hospital, according to Sgt. Roberta Baily with the Dayton Police Department.
He was also treated for self-inflicted cuts to his finger.
Police said the two were in a “domestic relationship.”
A scene was located in the 1900 block of East Third Street.
After being treated, the suspect was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence.
