2 hospitalized after 3-vehicle crash in Darke County

DARKE COUNTY — Deputies are investigating a three-vehicle crash that left two people hospitalized in Darke County on Friday.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 118 and Children’s Home Bradford Road, according to a spokesperson.

During the investigation, it was revealed that a 2004 Toyota Sienna, driven by 18-year-old Jessica Sims of Portland, Indiana, was driving on Children’s Home Bradford Road when she failed to yield the right of way.

Sim’s vehicle was struck by a 2020 Jeep Cherokee that was operated by 16-year-old Amber Stucke of Maria Stein.

Sim’s vehicle then struck a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado that was driven by 56-year-old Brett Sackett of Pittsburg, who was at the stop sign on Children’s Home Bradford Road.

Sims and her passenger were transported to Wayne Healthcare for minor injuries.

Stucke and her passengers were treated on the scene and released.

Sims was issued a citation for failure to yield after a clearly marked stop sign.
