What We Know: Snowstorm expected to begin today, carry into Tuesday

All eyes are on a snowstorm expected to hit the Miami Valley today through Tuesday with the potential for the greatest impacts we’ve seen all season.

A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from Monday at 1 a.m. until Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Here is what we know:

  • A strong area of low pressure will track south of Ohio bringing snow to the Miami Valley Sunday night into Tuesday.
  • There will be two rounds. Round one comes in Sunday overnight through Monday morning producing 2-4 inches of snow.
  • The second round will be Monday evening through Tuesday morning producing 4-6 inches of snow.
  • The total amount of snow expected for the entire event will be between 6-10 inches.
  • Roads will be hazardous for travel, especially Monday evening - Tuesday morning
  • Wind chills will also fall below zero at times.
