RTA customers, employees required to wear face coverings beginning Friday

The Greater Dayton RTA will require all of its customers and employees to wear a face covering beginning Friday to meet the city of Dayton’s new mandate on face masks.

The new requirement by the RTA includes all routes, including those outside of the city of Dayton.

The Dayton City Commission unanimously passed the ordinance that requires the wearing of face masks or protective coverings in public spaces on Wednesday.

“RTA recognizes the importance of the city of Dayton’s new mask policy, and will implement the new mandate onboard our buses and within our facilities,” Deputy CEO Bob Ruzinsky said. By working together, we can help slow the spread of COVID-19 and use best practices to safeguard the health of all those in our community.”

RTA vehicles are sanitized several times a day and receive a deep-cleaning every 24 hours, according to a release from the Greater Dayton RTA.

Dayton’s mandatory mask ordinance begins Friday at 8 a.m.
