Washington Twp. helps resident prepare for hazardous weather

Washington Township is helping residents prepare for the potentially hazardous weather this weekend, according to a release.

They will be consolidating information related to winter power outages, extreme cold and emergency preparation at www.washingtonwp.org/weather.

"We hope that our residents will prepare themselves in advance for potentially serious weather and that they'll continue to check back to this page for additional information," said Administrator Jesse Lightle.

If power outages become a problem, the page will be used to announce the opening of an emergency warming station at the Washing Township Recreation Center, 895 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, the release stated.

The station will also be available during regular recreation center hours if temperatures drop within the coming days: Weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

Warming center activation along with other weather-related updates will also be posted on the township's Facebook and Twitter page.
