MERCER COUNTY — Firefighters and volunteers from the community came together Friday morning to help fill sandbags to fight flooding in Mercer County.

Volunteers met at the Montezuma Fire Department to fill 400 to 500 bags with sand, said Travis Klosterman, assistant fire chief.
So far, the group has gone through 17 tons of sand and Klosterman said that he has more coming.

Parts of Mercer County were under water Friday morning after storms drenched the northern Miami Valley.
Multiple roads were closed in Mercer County with rainfall totals hitting 2.11 inches in Celina.
