Train derailment reported in Butler County, multiple railroad crossing blocked

HAMILTON — Cleanup efforts are underway after a train derailment in Butler County Friday morning.

At approximately 8 a.m., a CSX train derailed at Walnut Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard in Hamilton, according to our news partners at WCPO in Cincinnati.

Hamilton police told WCPO that four boxcars derailed. Two of the boxcars had vehicles inside of them, while the other two were empty.

There were no injuries reported.

Police said there was no timeline as to when cleanup would be completed.

  • Martin Luther King Boulevard
  • Fourth Street
  • Third Street
  • Second Street
  • Front Street
  • Millville Avenue
  • Kenworth Avenue

The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
