Staying warm, occasionally stormy through Saturday

DAYTON — Good Thursday evening, all. Meteorologist Nick Dunn here in what turned out to be a warmer day as highs made it well into the 70s. We had to pay a price with windy conditions but it sure felt nice. Unfortunately, this isn’t here to stay long-term.

Tonight a chance of showers and perhaps a storm or two arrives closer to midnight. Scattered showers and a rumble or two may persist into Friday morning. No severe storms are expected. Lows will be unseasonably warm in the 60s.

Into Friday, expect additional chances for a few showers and storms. An isolated strong to severe storm with strong winds or small hail is possible. However, widespread severe storms aren’t expected. It’s warm with highs in the 70s.

The Storm prediction Center has a Marginal Risk of severe storms in place for the Miami valley. I do not expect significant storms, but one or two could turn strong with strong winds and small hail.

By Saturday a stronger cold front brings additional rain and storm chances. The odds of severe weather are pretty low right now. Strong winds may accompany the front as it moves through.

This is good news for your Easter as the front should clear in time to bring drying conditions for Sunday.
