DAYTON — Police are investigating after one person was shot near a Dayton park on Monday.

A shooting was reported in the area of S. Paul Laurence Dunbar Street near Bancroft Street around 2:50 p.m., according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

The location of the report is near Burkham Center Park.
Police said one person, a male, was found shot and transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
A suspect has been taken into custody.
