Neil Armstrong’s childhood home for sale in Wapakoneta

WAPAKONETA — Neil Armstrong’s childhood home is officially for sale in Wapakoneta.

The house at 601 West Benton Street has been listed for $430,000, according to our news partners at WCSM.

The listing states the home, built in 1908, is 1,539 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

“The current owner has had the pleasure of helping to preserve history and keep the home much like it was when the young Neil Armstrong and his family lived there,” the online listing states.

Armstrong’s parents bought the home in 1944.

A historical marker was placed outside of the home in 2018.

“Here, Neil explored his fascination with flying by reading aviation magazines and building model airplanes,” the marker states.
