Multiple injured and 1 arrested after OVI crash in Darke Co. Friday

DARKE COUNTY — Two people were taken to the hospital, and three others were injured following a crash in Darke County Friday night.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office sent out a release saying deputies responded to a crash at the cross of Beamsville Webster Road and Schroder Road just before 6 p.m.

Deputies’ investigation revealed a red and gray 1994 Ford F-150 driven by Mark Malott,62, of Versailles was going north on Schroder Rd., at the intersection.

Malott failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign traveling into the path of a Taupe 2012 Lincoln Mk-x driven by Darla Allread,61, of Versailles.

Allread was traveling westbound on Beamsville Webster Rd. when she was hit in the intersection.

Allread and her front-seat passenger, Randy Allread, 63, of Versailles, were taken to Wayne ER by Ansonia Rescue.

Two juvenile passengers of Allread were treated and released by medics at the scene.

Malott was also treated for his injuries at the scene.

According to the release, Malott was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Mr. Malott was charged with OVI, driving under suspension, and failure to yield from a stop sign.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
