In March 2024, William Brock admitted to shooting an Uber driver, who died hours later.

He claims he shot her in self-defense.

Brock said that scammers were going to kill him and his family and “whoever’s close to you will die.”

Brock said he was so sure he would die he grabbed his gun and ushered Hall out of his house.

“The woman came into my house ... I was fighting for my life,” Brock said.

He testified that he believed that, whether he handed over the $12,000 to scammers or not, if Hall made a call, he would be killed.

Prosecutors insisted they proved all five charges against Brock, including murder. But that is not the way Brock’s lawyers looked at it.

They insisted that prosecutors looked at this wrong.
