GREENE COUNTY — A member of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office is on leave after being arrested for OVI.

Sergeant William “Jamie” Coe was arrested in Knox County over the weekend, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

“The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation and the resolution of the pending criminal case,” Major Dan Funk told News Center 7.
Coe has been cited with OVI and two other traffic violations, according to Mount Vernon Municipal Court records.
“As a law enforcement agency, we take matters involving our employees seriously and hold our personnel to professional standards both on and off duty. At the same time, the employee is entitled to due process, and we will allow both the criminal justice process and our internal administrative process to proceed appropriately,” Funk said.
