Dayton firefighters noticed a lot of smoke and fire when they arrived, according to Matt McClain, Dayton Fire District Chief.

“We had a lot of fire showing on this house on East Third Street when crews arrived,” he said. “The houses right here are really close together. We had flame and smoke impingement on the house on each side of the building.”

McClain added the house appeared to be vacant and boarded up.

He also said there was heavy fire on both the second and first floors.

“We found a few hot spots in the attic,” he told Hershovitz. “We got our investigators on the scene.”

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
