Initial scanner traffic indicated that black smoke was showing from the front side of the house. There were also flames reported in the back of the home.
Fairborn Fire Chief Ryan Williams said there were heavy fire conditions inside the home, “but crews worked well together, maintained constant and efficient communication, and performed extremely well.”
Williams added that the fire was due to unattended cooking.
No one was injured in the fire, but the resident has been displaced.
An estimate of the damage is being evaluated, but Williams said it will be significant.
