Crews were dispatched to a house on the 3000 block of Ridgemore Avenue around 4:40 p.m. on reports of smoke coming from a house, Kettering Fire Department Assistant Chief Mike Miller said.

Fire crews on scene said a neighbor called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the roof.

No one was home when the fire started, but two dogs inside died, the Battalion Chief on scene said.

Crews also found one cat in the house but they said it would be okay.

The fire has been ruled as accidental and it started in the kitchen on the stove, Miller said.
