HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A driver crashed into a hearse during a funeral procession in Montgomery County on Wednesday, according to a spokesperson with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened at the intersection of Shoup Mill Road and Main Street in Harrison Township around 10:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a Newcomers Funeral Home procession was heading westbound on Shoup Mill Road when it entered the intersection.
A tan Dodge Avenger, travelling south on Main Street, went into the intersection with a green light and hit the hearse, the spokesperson said.
The driver of the Avenger was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The spokesperson said there was a designated vehicle escorting traffic during the procession.
The driver of the Avenger was cited for Right of Way of a funeral vehicle.
