2 killed in Miami County crash identified

The two people killed Monday afternoon in a head-on crash on Ohio 41 East were Miami County residents.

Wade Zunk, 58, of Bradford and Christopher Lundy, 63, of Troy, were killed in the crash, said Miami County Coroner William Ginn.

Zunk was driving the vehicle believed to be heading west on the state highway.

Miami County Sheriff’s deputies and fire/rescue crews responded around 5:30 p.m. to Ohio 41, between Hufford Road and Ohio 201 for a two-vehicle collision with reports that at least two victims were unconscious.

Lundy was driving one of the vehicles involved, which was a work van belonging to Detmer and Sons Inc., a heating and air conditioning contractor in the Dayton and Springfield area.

The state route was shut down about five hours for the accident investigation, which was headed by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
